#Market orders

A market order executes immediately against the best available prices. PerpsX sends it as IOC (immediate-or-cancel): whatever can fill now fills, and any remainder is cancelled rather than left on the book.

#Limit orders

A limit order sets the worst price you accept. Choose how long it lives:

Time in force Behavior
GTC, good-til-cancelled Rests on the book until filled or cancelled.
IOC, immediate-or-cancel Fills what it can now; the rest is cancelled.
FOK, fill-or-kill Fills completely right now, or not at all.

#Order options

  • Post-only: the order is only accepted if it would rest on the book as a maker. Available on GTC limit orders.
  • Reduce-only: the order can only shrink an existing position, never open or flip one.
  • Take-profit / stop-loss: attach trigger prices when you place the order, or add them to an open position later.

#Precision and limits

Every instrument has its own price and size precision, a minimum notional, and maximum notional for market and limit orders. PerpsX rounds quantities down (never more than you asked for) and checks these limits before sending, so most invalid orders are caught with a clear message instead of a venue rejection.
